baby blessing

(on with the vacation ...)

After we left New Jersey, we flew to Utah for some more family fun. Ry had an extended family reunion going on, so we chose to bless little L while everyone was in town (grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.). Jordan and Cassie so graciously opened up their home for the event - which was no small gesture by any means!! They've been so busy lately with remodeling multiple homes in Utah getting ready to sell in order to move to Colorado. The morning of the blessing everyone was in the kitchen working on the back splash tiling! Many hands make light work, right?

So Friday night was the blessing, and we had so much wonderful family there! Dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, parents, and friends. It was definitely a crowded event - and we loved being able to share it with so many people that we love!!

The blessing was beautiful, and so sweet. It is amazing to hold our son and recognize that he is truly a child of God. He is so precious, and helps us remember how much our Heavenly Father loves us all. We are humbled and grateful for the blessing that it is to be his parents!!

Here is Ryan (new dad), with Gary (Ry's dad), and Bruce (Heather's dad) a little before the blessing.
Here I am with L before the blessing.
This picture was one of the very precious few pictures taken after the blessing. L was so sweet and didn't make a sound during the blessing, but the minute all the cameras were turned on afterwards he went ballistic! He screamed and screamed and would not allow Mom or Dad to calm him down! So even though we had many dreams of all the family pictures to take after the blessing, we didn't get a single one. How sad!! Next time, right? :(
After the blessing, everyone who could met up at a nearby park for a wonderful dinner prepared by the Grandma's and other family members. It was a perfect chance just to hang out and mingle with everyone!! Here's a few snapshots of it. You can tell I like to take pictures of the kids ... I promise that adults were there!!

My favorite is the picture of you holding L. Love the pacifier! So cute.

I'm glad you got a good one of you and L. Did you get a copy of the picture I took of him and Ryan?
