L has had this obsession for quite some time, as I'm sure a lot of toddler boys do.
On our Michigan trip, R picked up two new cars for L's collection (Chick Hicks and Mr. The King) and these four cars in particular went EVERYWHERE with us. They were his best friends and he honestly was so well behaved the entire time! His recent thing is to flip them upside-down and say, "lightening sad," flip them back over and say, "lightening happy!" So cute.

It reached a new high yesterday when after falling on one of our kitchen chairs and mildly scraping his shin he cried for his lightening bandaids saying that lightening would help it feel better. After we got the bandaid, he lined up all his cars and said they wanted to watch the Cars movie. I couldn't really refuse his cute face, so we watched it again. For the umpteenth time. And afterwards he wanted to keep singing along to the music video ...
He wasn't quite so animated as he normally is, but you get the idea.
Thank you Pixar. What would we do without you!

I can't even tell you how many times we've watched that movie....seriously probably a trillion. Jack literally has it memorized.
I agree with L.I love that MOVIE!! and I don't have any toddler boys around here!!
That's what I'm talk'n about! Cars is MY favorite movie and has been for quite some time...L and I are basically best friends.
Cute!
I love it!!! Hunter & L would get along smashingly well for sure :) With the love of Cars in common what else do you need in a friend??
My nephews love cars too and have that exact same obsession! Your Michigan trip looks like a lot of fun, even with the bad weather! I am happy you were able to get away.
He and Jonathan should get together. Jonathan has 4 different McQueen's and they have to go to bed with him.
Wow how they are changing and how darling they are. Love the video and the new header on your blog! Perfect how littlest L is swinging away while L is watching and singing. Very fun!! xo C
As long as L is aware that the song "Life is a Highway" was originally written and sung by Tom Cochrane and not the Rascally Flats, then I'll approve of his singing it.
Heather! I am having so much fun catching up on your blog - how do I get so behind? Anyway - I am very impressed by L's "Life is a Highway" rendition - Whoa, he is one adorable kidling! That ward camping trip looked like so fantastic, and the apple picking, park playing, etc . . . and you always have the best pictures! Love your blog!
